The Noisy Classroom Debating Shakespeare Workshop

Looking to get your students talking and thinking about Shakespeare? Book one of our workshops and we will help your students to discuss a play in-depth, while also developing their public-speaking and analytical skills.

During the day pupils explore two key debates about the play and through a series of fast-paced, energetic activities and games, pupils develop ideas and arguments for both questions. The activities look at persuasive speaking, key quotations from the play, thinking on your feet, and creating and developing arguments. Pupils will also learn how to debate and become familiar with the format of 3 v 3 debating.

The day concludes with two full-length debates.

This is a full day's workshop, for up to 30 pupils. It works particularly well for students in years 5-8, but we are happy to adapt it to better suit the age and ability of your students.

We can do a workshop around any Shakespeare play you are studying. If you don’t have a play on the go, we suggest our Romeo and Juliet workshop.

We will come to your school to deliver the workshop. We work with schools across the UK and Europe.
